This table covers the name of the Prop and its position.ĭefault name of prop, can be changed at any timeĪsset's position in the space of the scene. Actors are, at their core, a special prop. The first table is included for every Prop and Actor. Values can be modified from this window while editing or even changed in game with a trigger! The power of properties is what allows us to dictate an enemy's difficulty, where he shows up, and even how he can be interacted with.įrom the top of the view you have access to the following tools: I can build my own setting if they manage that. The properties view contains the information about a Prop or an Actor. My minimum bar for them to beat is just being a better system than Shadowrun. My hopes aren't very high for the setting. This is a game I'll be keeping an eye on. I'll probably never use these, but I can see them being useful for new GMs or players. These are scene cards that give players a list of options and the results for success or failure. Again, a fun subsystem, but more for the GM to track.Īn optional bit they include with the sample adventure are Infiltration Cards. They're broken into different bits that can be targeted, and destroying those bits can cause different effects. This avoids the hacker playing their own separate game, but adds more work for the GM.īosses also look fun. Hacking targets have individual systems that can be targeted, and hacking them can cause various effects. Vault seems to have a manageable way to deal with it. Hacking is a notoriously tricky system to include in ttrpgs. They get two points for changelings and faeborn, but they lose five for not having goblins.Īnother point against them is that they went with the whole magic and technology doesn't mesh. Engineered Organic Soldiers (edgy bitches), faeborn (gay bitches). I'm not a huge fan of class base systems, but being able to mix and match classes sounds fun.Īs far as species go, players can choose to be a human (basic bitches), dwarves (aggro bitches), elves (super basic bitches), changelings (annoying bitches), E.O.S. Players choose 2 classes (I'm guessing), a style (no idea what that means), and a species. Judging from the character sheet it's got some crunch to it, but not an overwhelming amount. I've only skimmed the demo materials, so I can only loosely judge the system.Ĭhecks are 2d6 + Attribute + Skill + Bonus VS a target number. I'm reserving judgement until I can get eyes on the actual book, but it's already looking like it's using the cyberpunk aesthetic while ignoring the themes. But this is cyberpunk, struggling to get by and not get fucked over is part of the genre. From a designer standpoint, I can see why you'd want to include a way to protect players from dick GMs. The Vault App came about as a way for Corps to hire mercs without having direct connections to them and mercs get paid without dealing with consequences or backstabbing. This brought everyone together, beat back the AI, and decided mega-corps should decide everything. Eventually AI came about and tried to conquer everything. From there was a stalemate, humans retreated to city states while Fae took to the wilds. Humans did the only reasonable thing and nuked the poles. The Ebb Court in the North and the Ether Court in the South. The Fae were tired of getting smacked with iron for being lil' shits, so they packed up their bags and left the mortal realm, taking all the magic with them.Įventually they realized humans weren't using iron as much anymore, so they busted open portals in the north and south poles, bringing magic back. Settingīrief rundown on the game's setting. Anyone that's been following me knows that I love and loathe Shadowrun, and I will immediately latch onto anything that can possibly fill that fantasy cyberpunk niche.

I was recently pointed towards Vault, which is launching its Kickstarter tomorrow.
